Being "Green" in the home starts with the little things. When
incorporating lighting design for your house consider this: small changes and
eco-conscious purchases over time add up to a big impact. Using eco-friendly
products such as energy efficient lighting, is one of the easiest steps you can
take to make a difference in our environment. An added bonus is the money you'll
save with lower energy bills. Start by replacing the lighting that you use the
most; kitchen ceiling lights, family room lamps and
outdoor lighting. Just replacing these lighting fixtures with more energy

Comment:
There are many different options for lighting a house both inside and outside. For example, installing track lighting, fluorescent lighting, recessed lighting, or any other similar options require some time and patients.
Having lighting in the ceiling has many advantages over desk lamps and floor lamps. It doesn't take any floor space, it can not get knocked over
accidentally, and it is permanent. In addition to this, you aren't really aware of it. It just lights up the room without being particularly noticed. It has a
nice ambient effect which is good for people who like seamless, consistent lighting.
Everyone has their own preferences. I prefer to utilize both ceiling lighting fixtures with the use of floor lamps and table lamps to decorate and accent my rooms.
It actually started out of necessity. I had just purchased my second house, and there was no lighting installed in the ceiling. I knew this going in and that I would have to
make some major improvements and renovations in not only improving my house but also increasing its value. Now, if you feel you don't have the designer gene or
hands, start slowly and work within your budget. You can start with floor lamps. Depending on design layout and light designs such as contemporary lamps, decorative lamps, you may want to think about using desk lamps
or table lamps depending on the set up of tables you have or may purchase. If you have limited room space a floor light / lamp takes a little bit of room in the corner, but all in all it is
almost like it isn't there.
Try to maximize and use the lighting to great effect. I have always preferred Tiffany floor lamps. I love the stained-glass look of them. All the
color panels together produce a feel that is warm, yet surprisingly neutral. The effect is both artistic and practical. I can't think of a better solution for
lighting a house. Of course, other people prefer something more neutral. If this is what you are going for, I have always thought that nothing beats torchiere lamps. Torchiere floor lamps create a lot of light, yet they have the most low-profile
and simplistic appearance possible. They have a very modern aesthetic that many people find very attractive. The light is what it has to be,
and nothing more. Lighting Showplace offers great discounts and name brand lighting fixtures and sells all types and styles of ceiling lighting fixtures, floor lamps, table & desk lamps. If you really get adventurous,
they have a large collection of patio and outdoor lighting.
